What illness causes sore bumps on the back of tongue and in throat? have had them with cold and my husband has them also. they are all over the back of our tongue and we both have ichy troats and i have a sore throat. The bumps are red, not white. Some are little and some are about the size of a small pea. No white one's though! Any other possibilities?
I get sore bumps on my tongue, why? They are no larger than 1/16th on an inch. They are not white or red. They are sore like a zit before it comes to a head but thats where the similarity ends. They go away in a few days or so. And they occur any where on the tongue. What causes them?
For the past 2 days I have had some sore bumps on the side of my tongue, how do i get rid of them? they hurt? I don't know what they are called. I am guessing canker sores but I am not sure. They hurt when I eat something salty or with acid in them. I can't eat anything with out them hurting. Even when I am not eating they hurt. How do I get rid of them. I have a party to go to today and I would like to have some Birthday cake, but i don't know if i can with these buggers.

Bumps on tongue and moderately swollen sore glands? Ok, I am so irritated! (no pun intended :)) Anyway, the very back of my tongue has been very sore and tonight I have developed more little white sores on the tip of my tongue. My glands in my neck are sore and moderately swollen. I have a low grade fever. What the heak!!!! Anyone dealing with this??? Also, my almost 3 year old son has a fever and his eye is red!!

I had a nurse look at it she said it probably just strep but to get tested for std. I've been having several canker sores and bumps on my tongue, should I worry? I'm not sexually active but I did get a tattoo six months ago and I'm scared I may have contacted some sort of disease through it. As of now I have three canker sores and a small bump to the side of my tongue that is mildly swelled. Sore tongue on the sides, particularly when it hits my teeth? I've had this a couple of times before, and it does go away after a little while. But I want to know what it might be. My tongue is mainly sore on the sides, and hurts the most when it touches my teeth and when I talk. It's really sensitive and my teeth feel a lot sharper than they are. I can't really see anything wrong, perhaps a couple of little bumps but they may be there all the time I don't know. Any ideas? I haven't bitten my tongue really hard recently or anything, and have had this before.

Anyone ever have a bump on the left side of their tongue with a sore throat on the left side only? So about 2 days i woke up and i have a sore throat but it only hurts on the left side of my throat. It hurts when i swallow and sometimes when i talk. I have a bump on my tongue on the left side it doesn't really hurt but it's uncomfortable when i touch it with my tooth or something. Also, my left ear is starting to hurt. It's all my left side lol. anyone ever expirience this and if so what could it be?
When your pregnant does your mouth and tongue get sore? Like a raw feeling? I think I am pregnant and lately I have noticed that my mouth is SO sore. The roof of my mouth and my tongue are the worst. Sore throat and bumps on back of my tongue? I have had a cold off and on for a few weeks now but i woke up this morning and my throat is killing me, im completely drained and i have big red bumps on the back of my tongue.. I am not sure yet if i have a fever, i thought i did this morning but im at work and have no way to tell for sure. I have an appt with the doctor tomorrow but I have a 6 month old daughter at home i dont want to take any chances with. Does this sound like something I could give her, even if i dont have a fever?
HELP!! I have "canker" sores in my mouth. Also I have little white bumps on my tongue, they are SO sensitive! I have reacurring canker sores and bumps on my tongue!! Sore throat .... hard to swallow, bumps on the back of my tongue... is this normal? I can't shake a sore throat i have, that makes swallowing hurt. I haven't gone to the doctor, because I feel fine, I don't feel sick... but my throat hurts, not the kind of hurt where you don't want to drink milk... it just plain hurts...hurts to swallow etc. I stuck my finger down my mouth out of curiosity ... and it feels bumpy. Why are the bumps on the back of my tongue swollen and sore? The other day I was looking at my tongue while driving and I noticed that my tongue had weird spots on it that were flat and missing the normal layer of whatever that's on it after eating. I went home and brushed my tongue but the same spots were there. I showed my friend and she noticed that the bumps on the back of my tongue were extremely swollen and red. It hurts to swallow sometimes, it kind of feels like I burned my tongue but I can't remember eating or drinking anything extremely hot in the past week. Could I be getting strep throat? I've never been sexually active, I'm not romantically involved, and I take good care of my mouth, I see the dentist regularly. I just don't understand what these bumps are, any ideas? What could be causing my red bumps on back of tongue and other symptoms.? I just started a new job and don't have medical insurance yet. My wife was sick all last week with the flu. After several days, I started feeling some symptoms, mostly just run down and fatigued with a sore throat. Sore Tongue? Hello... I wasn't sure exactly where to post this... I was wondering if this was a problem that should be solved by a doctor or a dentist. My tongue feels sore. I did not bite on it, I did not drink anything hot, I am not sick nor do I have a fever, it feels sensitive as if I had thrush, but no white patches are present, it is not deeply red or inflamed, there aren't any unusual spots, bumps or opened sores. I take prenatal vitamins. I eat normally. I brush twice daily and brush my tongue & palate. What could this possibly be? Is this another one of them bizarre pregnancy issues? I also drink water ^ I do wear braces... I am wondering if that is the source of the problem... because the soreness is mainly on the sides of my tongue... however I don't recall having this problem before I got pregnant.

The tip of my tongue is sore. What's going on? The past day or so, the tip of my tongue has been sore. I had a tiny white bump that went away. I've been gargling with salt water a few times a day but it's still sore minus the white bump. My tongue is swollen and I have tiny red bumps around my mouth.? I know these bumps aren't cold sores because they go up to my nose and down to my chin, they aren't on the lips. My tongue is also swollen and very tender. Does anyone have this happen after eating a food you are allergic to? I've been tested for foods years ago and nothing was that bad. So I'm not quite sure how a mild food allergy may affect a person. Any insight would be great. Thanks! My tongue has been swollen for at least 2 days. Sore on lip and bump on tip of tongue.? Okay. So I'm a virgin and the only person I've kissed in the past like year has been my boyfriend. He is also a virgin. I am a little concerned because this woman came into my office last week and she looked pretty gross. Cold sores?? & I have like two bumps under my tongue... They went away, but it happened before when I was really young. I got like a cold sore on my lip when I was young too. I'm guessing that all the little bumps all over my tongue are raised taste buds because their are so many of them, however some of them are really painful. Sore tongue?? Seriously!? In the last 2 months I have been on 2 different runs of antibiotics (due to leaking amniotic fluid) I have also stopped taking folic acid and prenatal vitimins. The last week my tongue is yellowish, cracked and has red bumps down the middle. Could I have picked up and infection from the antibiotics? Or be lacking in nutrients? I know I should go to my DR but cant get in for 3 weeks and this really sucks...what could it be and are there any over the counter fixes? All help appreciated. Sore throat with bumps? I have had a sore throat for the past two weeks or so. It seems to start hurting mostly in the evening (around seven pm) and is the worst upon waking up in the morning. Took probiotic called Threelac. Now I have painful white bumps on my tongue, a sore throat and a black tongue Is that just the friendly bacteria killing off the candida? How long will this last? Should I stop taking the probiotic?

I'm sick and I have bumps in the back of my tongue. Help?? I have been sick for a few days now, running a fever and mild sore throat. Now I don't have a fever at all but my throat hurts worse. I looked inside and on the back of my tongue I have bumps. They are not blister like just bumps. They aren't red either. They are perfectly lined up in a semi circle shape, very symetrical. Does anyone have any ideas of what this is? I don't think it's strep because I feel better. Any ideas
Tongue sensitive and throat sore? A few days ago I was eating a bag of Mike Sells Honey BBQ Chips and since then my tounge has been very sensitive, the tip and the sides and everything. I can see little bumps and food doesnt taste the same when I eat. On top of that my throat has been very sore, I don't know if this could be something in conjunction with my sensitive tongue. Little white bumps on my tongue, serious answers only!? Every once in a while I get a couple very small (smaller than a pin head) painless white bumps under my tongue, that hang around for a while, and then just disappear for no reason. What are these? They don't hurt, they are very small, white, and nothing really seems to bring them on but they last for a bit and then go away. They are on the BOTTOM like underside of my tongue, and it's not an std because I was just tested, and so was my BF. I got them before I was sexually active anyways. It almost is like a zit on my tongue or something? Calcium deposit? It's not a cold sore, I know what a cold sore is, it's not a canker sore either. They are painless. Very small. Kinda hard like a pimple, and I can pop them. I have like 3 little ones. I KNOW IT"S NOT A CANKER SORE OR A COLD SORE, AND IT'S NOT AN STD.
Sore tongue?? ok i have a removable retainer and well i was playing with it and the tip of my tongue got pinched in it [i know i am an idiot] but now there is a little bump on the tip like one of the taste buds is almost pulled out [idk its hard to explain] but it really hurts. is there anything i can do to make it better?
Bumps and pain on the back of my tongue? Two days ago I woke up with a sore tonuge/throat. It hurt when I swallowed, eat, drank ect. Now today, 2 days later, I shined a flash light in my mouth and at the VERY back of my tounge I can see bumps on my tongue. They look like blisters. I did not burn my mouth, there is nothing on my throat. It is also sore when I press on my throat, sort of under my chin. Any idea what this could be? Other then the thraot/tongue, I have no symptoms. I feel great. Just VERY sore. Thanks for any help!

Under my tongue is sore and irritated? Under my tongue has been red and irritated for the past few days. I just a long course of antibiotics...first Flagyl for a week, then Clindamycin for another week, then keflex for one more week! long story short, my tongue has been irritated eversince last week, Very sensitive...and I get papercut looking cuts on my lingual frenulum when I lift my tongue up (something that's never happend to me before!!!) What is wrong with my tongue?! I don't have any bumps or anything....just a bit red. swollen, and irritated...:(

Bumps at back of tongue? Recently, I've noticed that at the very back of my tongue, there are raised red bumps there but I'm not sure what they are as they haven't been there before. I've checked lots of websites and they say it is tastebuds but they have never been there before unless they are tastebuds which are swollen but what could be causing this. They are not sore but I can sometimes feel them at the back of my throat. Thanks for any answers!
