White bumps on side of tongue help? I have white bumps on the side of my tongue, my throat feels like it is on fire, and I have trouble eating. Can anybody help? I think it might be strep throat but not sure.

I have a recurring bump on the right side of my tongue -it appears every 2-3 weeks. Anyone know what this is? Sometimes the bump is painful and sensitive, other times I can it does not hurt at all. The bump will be very sensitive and noticiable for about a week and then will go away for about 2-3 weeks before re-appearing, it is always in the exact same spot. Why do the sides of my tongue hurt? For some reason after I got home from school yesterday (I am a teacher), the sides of my tongue were sore. Red bump on the side and under tongue. White things inside it? A few days ago I noticed I woke up with a small red bump with that seemed clear in the middle (Bump was as big as this O). It got bigger that day (probablly from poking it a lot) and when I got home I rinsed my mouth with Hydrogen Peroxide. I didn't feel any burning but it seemed to shrink down to it's original size. The bump isn't painful now (Although it was the first day or two). But now instead of being clear it seems like it's a red bump with a white thing inside it. The white thing is small but not a shape I can describe. On top of that, there is a white thing poking out of it slightly, like a small while pimple. And another small white bump on the opposite side. What do you think this is? Is it serious? Thanks for the reassurance. I'm open to more opinions if anyone has any :)

ii have a bump on the side of my tongue.? Single white bump on the back right side of my tongue? Yesterday afternoon I noticed a single painless white bump on the back right side of my tongue. I have no idea where it's from, but I did swim in the pool an hour before and pool water got into my mouth (I dunno if that's relevant or anything). I'd say it's the size of a large whitehead. What specialist diagnoses and treats diseases of the tongue? c have had a white, rough bump on the right side of my tongue that comes and goes. It is quite painful and seems to be a precurser to my feeling fatigued and sick. I got a staph infection from a hospitalization in 2002 and my immune system has been compromised according to my primary physician. I have seen an oral surgeon but he hasn't been available when my symptoms were presenting. He said that I was obsessed with my tongue and that it is a psychological issue. My family and friends have all seen my tongue and think that the oral surgeon is not professional, condescending and sexist. I do not want to go back to that practice and need advice. I also should mention that I gave up smoking two years ago. The area of my tongue that is affected is where I placed the cigarette on my lips. I am afraid that this might be something serious and I'm at a loss as to where to turn to next. I appreciate any advice that you could give me.

I have two movable bumps under my tongue? I have 2 movable bumps under my tongue. The larger one is on the left side of the string like thing that attaches the tongue to the lower jaw, The smaller one is on the other side. Are the tiny white bumps on the tip of my tongue the symptom of an STI? Yesterday, while I was at a party I felt a small pain from the sides of my tongue whenever I touched it with my teeth. I simply ignored it, but today I still felt it and then checked it in the mirror. I freaked out thinking that I had an STI due to the fact that my girlfriend and I had unprotected 69 almost a month ago (we were clueless about the risks), and the symptoms are showing. Although, upon futher research I found that it might be canker sores from eating so much junk food and not brushing my teeth much. So which is it?

About a week ago, my bottom lip started swelling in class.. a few hours later the swelling went down but moved to the other side of my bottom lip.. then the top lip swelled up on the side.. this happened again yesterday but only my upper lip. Also, last night my tongue swelled up at the tip but on the right side.. then that went down and swelled up on the left! Now, I came back from school and there are really itchy red bumps in my underarms, my back, tummy, and inner thighs. bump underneath tongue? i am 23 and have been smoking for 5 years now, yes i'm trying to quit i know i need to. but about 5 months ago i got a bump underneath my tongue right behind my gum in the front of my mouth. when i wake up in the morning it's not as big but i notice when i smoke it gets bigger. it is sort of a white color, also when i smoke it seems to make it hurt along with the side of my tongue. i quit smoking for 2 1/2 weeks and it didn't go away but it seemed like it could have been shrinking possibly, kind of hard to tell. but i am just curious if anyone would have any info on what it might be and if it should go away after i quit smoking how long it would take for it to dissappear. i have no health insurance unfortunatly so going to the doctor is kind of out of the question so i am turning to this to see if anyone has had similar problems. all help is appreciated when i quit smoking it didn't hurt, sorry forgot to add that thanks for answering, but that didn't help at all. i think yahoo answers is for helping people not telling them something they already know. i'm just looking for an answer as to what it might be if your just going to tell me to stop smoking then don't bother answering your wasting your time and mine cause i already know and am in the process of trying to do that. someone told me that if it were cancer it wouldn't get smaller when i sleep, if anyone has any confirmation on the accuracy of this it would be great to know cause until i get health insurance i'm kind of on my own
