i am 23 and have been smoking for 5 years now, yes i'm trying to quit i know i need to. but about 5 months ago i got a bump underneath my tongue right behind my gum in the front of my mouth. when i wake up in the morning it's not as big but i notice when i smoke it gets bigger. it is sort of a white color, also when i smoke it seems to make it hurt along with the side of my tongue. i quit smoking for 2 1/2 weeks and it didn't go away but it seemed like it could have been shrinking possibly, kind of hard to tell. but i am just curious if anyone would have any info on what it might be and if it should go away after i quit smoking how long it would take for it to dissappear. i have no health insurance unfortunatly so going to the doctor is kind of out of the question so i am turning to this to see if anyone has had similar problems. all help is appreciated when i quit smoking it didn't hurt, sorry forgot to add that thanks for answering, but that didn't help at all. i think yahoo answers is for helping people not telling them something they already know. i'm just looking for an answer as to what it might be if your just going to tell me to stop smoking then don't bother answering your wasting your time and mine cause i already know and am in the process of trying to do that. someone told me that if it were cancer it wouldn't get smaller when i sleep, if anyone has any confirmation on the accuracy of this it would be great to know cause until i get health insurance i'm kind of on my own
