Tongue Pimples

Pimple under my tongue?

Its right under my tongue, its been there for nearly 2 months. I first noticed it when i was out with a few friends and all of a sudden it would hurt when i swallow. Im not sure if this happened after i took a sip from my friends bottle of water or before...The pain was there for about a day or 2. Anyways it dont hurt no more but the pimple is still there ? Im 17... and i remember having this pain when i was 11 years old once at school... but the pain went away in about half an hour... and i didnt hav a pimple under my tongue ....But anyway i dont know what this pimple is now... it doesnt hurt or anythin no more...could this be from having bad oral hygean... Because I dont bursh my teeth that often... What else could this be?

  1. I would get your dentist/doctor to check it out. It's probably nothing but you could need some antibiotics. Also it's important for you to have regular 6 monthly checkups. One good reason for this is that within 5 years of on-set oral cancer has only a 50% survival rate.
  2. I would suggest going to a ENT(ear, nose and throat) specialist asap, If it's not painful then it's not a canker sore, and not brushing your teeth is bad for your teeth and gums, but it doesn't really effect the area under your tongue. It could be a cyst, a stone in your gland, or tumor, which could be benign or in early enough stages that you can just have it removed, but any suspicious lumps need to be checked out, and the sooner the better. Good luck!
