Tongue Pimples

Tongue problem?

One of the glands that produces saliva under my tongue got stuck up; probably the presence of stone or whatever. So it kind of swells up esp when eating. I went to the dentist and he injected something into it (dont know what); but slowly the "lump" decreases in size. But now, I can still see that pimple-like thing under my tongue and it seems still inflammed bec its kind of reddish. Dont know if it will again swell up anytime in the future (???) I heard that it takes surgery to finally open up the gland. is this right? It doesnt swell up right now like it was; but still, the redness and the presence of that small "bump" thing that is pimple-like.. dont know what it is and what to do...

  1. the old saying====go see a Dr
  2. sounds similar to how kidney stones form in the body...it will take surgery to remove it -- but it's not as bad as it sounds. If it is really bothering you - go back to the dentist and consult w/him/her on getting it removed. My sister had a similar problem yrs ago and she had surgery and has never had a reoccurance. The glands are considered the garbage dump of the body -- things can get trapped in them and they get inflamed. Don't be afraid to have it removed -- you'll feel alot better.
