I have a small pimple on the side of my tongue and it hurts.?
More like the enlargement of a single papilla. I'm not sure what this is, or how it can be dealt with. Is this just me or has anyone else experienced it? If so I want it gone.

- Go see a doctor and ask him or her to get it off.
- from what i know it's just a heat bubble well that's ive i call it cuz u get from the weather changes(sp) i've had the b4 they're not really pimples, so yeah
- That is a swollen tastebud. Read here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tastebud about this. It will go away in probably a week and a half at most. For now, just deal with the pain and try not to eat too much candy, mostly the kind with citric acid, because that is usually how it occurs. Trust me, I get those a lot, my sour candy addiction :).
- If it lasts more than a week go to a doctor. Ive had something like that if not that. From accidentally biting my tongue. The mouth is the fastest healing area of your body. Good Luck.
- I get those too. The nickname for them is "Lie bump". These painful red or white bumps on the tongue are called transient lingual papillitis Often called "Lie Bumps" because telling a lie would supposedly bring one on. The true culprit is irritation of the tongue's papillae, or taste buds.Hydrogen Peroxide as a mouthwash usually works to treat it. You might want to try using a protective over-the-counter medication such as OraBase or Zilactin. These materials act like a bandage and help to protect the ulcerated surface of the fungiform papilla. I hope this helps!
- It will go away by itself especially if you dont mess with it (easier said than done).
- it sounds like a canker sore. gargle with peroxide several times a day or use over the counter meds for this.
- garggle with warm salty water
