Bumps on back of tongue after inhalin hairs?
I was recently sent to Juvie, I did nothing to harm anyone but that is beside the point. My first night there I thoght I inhaled some hairs that were on the pillow. I told no one and eventually forgot about it until this morning. I look in the mirror and there are small bumps on my tongue in the area that annoys me. I wonder if this is a STD from the hairs. My parents say that the state must cleanse the sheets and such, and that this is nothing to worry about. Still I am worried about this, they do not burn or make me feel pain, they feel annoying and dryish. I checked this website: www.puberty101.com for STDs like this but found none. I would just like to know if it is anything to be alarmed about, and what it is if so. I only just woke up this morning and felt them, it might just be the cold dry air here since it is becoming winter here up north in the USA, but I fail to see how cold air can cause this. I am less hungry now and I think I may dehydrated although I don't feel thirsty.

- Uh.....do you know what STD stands for? SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED DISEASE. That means that you get it from sex, not eating a hair on the pillow. My next thought on this is the hairs. I just find "inhaling hairs from a pillow in juvie" to be ridiculous.
- It's an allergic reaction...I have the same thing from medications I take...annoying but not dangerous...complained to Dr. and she said would I rather have the bumps or a heart attack again....I take the bumps (heart attacks HURT!!!) LOL Is a lot more common than most people know cause people rarely mention this condition to others...same as groin abscesses...hehehehe.
- It's normal to get bumps on the back of your tongue (usually after eating certain things, and sometimes if you're not brushing well it will be worse. I think it's clogged salivary glands. It feels annoying, but is harmless and will go away. It definitely does not sound like an STD and it is highly unlikely for you to get an STD just by coming into contact with some stray hair even if it gets in your mouth. Maybe it is the dry air, perhaps you're getting a cold and sleeping with your mouth open. Either way, I'm sure you can relax. It's nothing major.
