  1. I would call a doctor right away
  2. go to the doctor buddy cuz you are very sick
  3. well maybe if you wont eat or do alot of stuff thats mono
  4. Not likely mono, it just sounds like a secondary infection (very likely after strep.) Mono is characterized by extreme fatigue (like an inability to get out of bed) and muscle aches followed in a few days by swollen glands, jaundice and a measles-like rash.
  5. Strep throat is a tough buggie to kill, actually- and it takes antibiotics a good 3-4 days to kick in before you even begin to notice any effect at all. Even then, it will be at least a week before you will start to be human. In the meantime, fatigue and an extremely sore throat are pretty par for the course. Your body is under attack, and it takes a lot of energy to do that fighting back. Fatigue is the body's way of limiting your activity, so it has more to concentrate on doing that fighting. Bumps on the tongue and the white stuff are not symptoms of mono. They are symptoms of an infection like strep. They are likely pus collections, if you are seeing them on the tonsils. On the tongue, it may be a coating. It may also be a first sign of thrush, a yeast infection of the mouth. Since your throat is sore, you probably aren't drinking much. That and the antibiotics can set you up for that to happen. Try brushing your teeth and tongue, and concentrate on drinking more and resting/sleeping as much as you can. Take all the antibiotics, and give it some time. If you have gotten to the 7 day point and are still not noting improvement, then it's time to revisit the doctor. Even if you have mono, you will have had to be sick with it for about 2 weeks for the tests to confirm it. And there still won't be anything else they can do for you. Mono is caused by a virus, which won't respond to antibiotics. Strep is a bacteria, and will be killed- it just takes a while. Hang in there. Drink until your molars float, because a moist throat hurts a lot less and heals faster. Rest, because that's what your body needs and what it is screaming at you to do. And relax. Your body is quite able to fight this off, and although you feel like you are dying, you won't.
  6. Could be a yeast infection, yes you can get it there. But see a doctor.
