- Sounds like a mouth ulcer
- you could actually have been allergic to the ice cream. if it doesnt go away in a couple of days see a doctor..and its not a silly question! :] BEST OF LUCKK<333
- It's not a silly question at all! If you were eating ice cream made with something to which you have a history of sensitivity, then I'd say you have confirmed that you're still allergic to it. Assuming it doesn't get worse, you'll just need to wait for it to clear up; if that hasn't happened in about 72 hours, then it might not be a bad idea to see your doctor. Other than that, I'd say you need to stay away from whatever it is that's the cause of the sensitivity, so it doesn't happen in the future. Some types of food allergies can "compound" with time, and you don't want to push your luck and end up with a truly severe reaction.
- You probably bit your tongue.
- If you were allergic to ice cream you probably would have a reaction everywhere in your mouth with swelling and pain. You may have candidiasis. Do you smoke or get sick easily (i.e. immunocompromised)? Give it a week and if the condition doesn't improve you may need antifungals. You're right it does sound like you were eating too many sour candies, but maybe you burnt your tongue without knowing it.
