Tongue Pimples

Swollen Taste buds......?

Hey guys, for the past week I've been noticing that my taste buds are "bumpy" meaning that they are like raised bumps against my tongue, and not just in one place of the tongue, pretty much all over it and the color is pretty normal. I read somewhere that this can be caused by an allergic reaction or irritation to spicy foods. well, I haven't really eaten anything that would give me and allergic reaction. and I've grown up eating spicy foods so irritation to spicy foods seems unlikely. If anybody here has had a similar problem please let me know what you found out about it. i'm really starting to get worried but i've been told not to worry about it.

  1. I used to have that problem occasionally, and I asked my dad about it because he was a pharmacist. He told me to gargle with hydrogen peroxide, and the problem did clear up. Below is a little information from Wikipedia on how hydrogen peroxide is used for treatments like these. Take care! - - - - - - - Therapeutic use Hydrogen peroxide has been used as an antiseptic and anti-bacterial agent for many years. While its use has decreased in recent years due to the popularity of better-smelling and more readily-available over the counter products, it is still used by many hospitals, doctors and dentists in sterilizing, cleaning and treating everything from floors to root canal procedures. Hydrogen peroxide is GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe) as an antimicrobial agent, an oxidizing agent and more by the US Food and Drug Administration.[7] Hydrogen peroxide can also be used as a toothpaste when mixed with correct quantities of baking soda and salt.[8] Like benzoyl peroxide, hydrogen peroxide is also sometimes used in the treatment of acne. Hydrogen peroxide is also seen in some alternative medicine treatments. Joseph Mercola recommends pouring small amounts into the ear canal as a method of treating colds.
