Tongue Pimples

the side of my tongue hurts?

the other day the side of my tongue started hurting, kind of stinging-like, if i twist it a certain way but i haven't had any spicy food or anything lately so i don't think i could have burned it. There's not really any visible change to it... I've had stuff like this before where there's little raised white bump-like things on top and occasionally on the sides, but it's never really been like this before. i've been washing my mouth out with listerine several times a day and tried brushing but it hurts pretty bad to brush. i also have my tongue pierced but i've had it for over 3 months and i've had it done once before so i'm pretty sure it's not infected (plus, I think the pain would be in and around the hole rather than the side...) any help? thanks ok so what if i take out my tongue ring and keep rinsing with salt water and listerine and stuff and let the hole close up?

  1. I would start rinsing my mouth out with warm salt water....it could be a simple canker sore that has just not erupted yet.... it could be infection, it would not have to be localized to the piercing...... Good luck
  2. Little white rash most often means thrush, which is a yeast infection. You can't take antibiotics for it, you have to take an anti-fungal. You need to see a doctor because there is nothing over the counter that cures it. You probably did get it from your piercing, or, do you use an asthma inhaler? Anyway, that's certainly what it sounds like.
