Tongue Pimples

Dark Red Spot of Blood Inside of my Cheek...should I worry?

Right after applying the crest white strips (I don't if there's a connection) and while I was flossing, I noticed a small dark spot, almost black looking in the light located somewhere in the middle and to the back of the inside of my cheek. I scraped at it with my finger, and it came away with specks of coagulated blood and fresh blood. I checked the spot right after scraping off the top of the spot, and now it appeared to be just a red spot, just a little bit darker than the color of my cheek, with blood under the surface. If I feel at it with my tongue, it's a little bit raised like a small bump. It's absolutely painless. I'm 19 and I take good care of my teeth. I haven't bitten my cheeks or damaged in any other way that I can recall. I don't think I've ever seen something like this inside my mouth, and I was just wondering how worried I should be about it. Should I wait to see if it disappears before contacting a dentist? Thanks in advance for your input!

  1. You've probably just bitten it without noticing. I wouldn't worry about it, and I definitely don't think you need to contact a dentist about it.
  2. You probably bit your cheek. Keep an eye on it for a few days and it will go away. If it doesn't, then see your dentist.
