What causes those little bumps on your tongue?
Sometimes I get them after eating chilli and the can be painful. Theyre like little white bumps.

- they are probably irritated taste buds from the acid and spice in the chili. just a guess. God bless
- the little bumps are your taste buds, because you've eaten something hot like chilli's, the bumps have enlarged because more blood has being sent to cool them off. They show white because you've burned them.
- taste buds you idiot, they probely feel painful because the chilli was spicy, or because you burned your tounge becaus eit was to hot, it can stay painful the whole day, if you burn it.
- I get them too! They hurt like hell. Kind of like a paper cut, but in the mouth. I never knew what they were but I get them when I eat a lot of food that contains acid. I find if I put like 5 table spoons of salt in hot or warm water in a glass and swish it in my mouth until I cant take the taste of the salt water any more and spit it out. I do this until the lets say 16-18 once cup is gone. I also, if its real bad skip the water and just pure the salt on my tongue. I do this before I go to bed after I brush my teeth and the thing is gone in the morning. I wonder if there's a name for it? I disagree with the guy who says its because you burnt it because if I drink really hot coffee and burn my tongue their be just a big blister like thing on my tongue but some times I get what you described as a white dot(s) or taste bud(s) that hurts and its not the same.
