White bumps on side of tongue help?
I have white bumps on the side of my tongue, my throat feels like it is on fire, and I have trouble eating. Can anybody help? I think it might be strep throat but not sure.

- sounds like strep throat, You should be seen by a doctor to be sure and get on some antibiotics. good luck
- Have you eaten a lot of salt lately?? If your bumps are more clear than white and sore, then they could just be cankers. They'll develop if you eat lots of salt. If they are pure white, then likely oral candidiasis. Basically, a fungal infection. You'll need prescription medication through your doc. After treatment, remember to change your toothbrush. You can reinfect yourself. Sometimes white bumps develop on the throat in people with strep throat. Not always though. Can only confirm strep through a swab and antibiotics are needed if the test is positive. Strep throat really hurts though. You've mentioned a firey throat, so it is possible the infection has spread or developed into something else on your tongue, like candidiasis. Strep is really contagious too. From your description, doesn't really sound like canker sores, so either strep and/or candidiasis. I'd get to a doc asap.
- Go to the doctor to find out for sure. It may be something more serious.
