What causes the tiny white, painful bumps on our tongues?
You have felt them every once in awhile. They are painful bumps on the tongue which make it difficult to eat, swallow, etc. They last for maybe a week, then they disappear. Where do they come from? What causes them? I'm thinking too much acid in foods or too much sugar. Who knows for sure?

- Canker sores can be caused by bacteria from not cleaning the mouth enough, or from illnesses that lower the ability to fight off such things, and sometimes from too hot food or some medications.
