Tongue Pimples
pimple on tongue?
i have a pimple on the edge of my tongue it rubs against the back of my teeth. its causing me pain and i cant go to sleep from how much its irritating me. i also have braces which is doubling the pain at the moment. its giving me a lisp and making me sound like a spanish guy. any tips of how to manage this situation and anyone know the cause of this cause the pimple doenst really have pus in it. its just an inflated dot on my tongue

- its not a pimple, its an inflamed taste bud. I get these all the time when I eat to many sweets. They are the worst and are so painful. Resist the urge to try and pop it. here is a better description of it: A “tongue pimple” is a great way to describe it, but it is probably an inflamed papilla, or taste bud. Eating too many tomatoes, citrus, or other acidic foods; pokes from a food that has a sharp edge like a chip or pretzel; or a tiny puncture from broken dental work can trigger the micro-irritation that leads to a swollen bump. Within about five days, it will go away on its own, but until it does, resist the urge to check on it to see if it’s still there by rubbing your tongue against your teeth. To sooth the soreness, try rinsing with warm salt-water 2-3 times a day or dab the bump with a milk of magnesia-soaked cotton swab to create an acid-neutralizing barrier. While the bump is healing, stick with a soft diet and steer clear of anything potentially irritating, like acidic, hot or spicy foods. If your tender taste bud doesn’t shrink back to normal within ten days, see your doctor or dentist.

- You need not worry coz this just the after effects of a cold.I've personally experienced the same a couple of times.It will go away in a few days time.As for the pain,you can use coldrex or coldcap tablets.They are good on a cold.Wish you the best.
