help on itamin deficiancy?
last week i went to the chemist with raised bumps on the back of my tongue the pharmasist said it was oral thrush and gave me daktarin. i went to the doctors today and he said it was vitamin deficiancy. and that i needed to have a blood test to see what vitamins im lacking. and said it was nothing to worry about. i told him i drink a lot of fizzy drinks and this has probably caused this. is it anything to worry about? and what will be done ?

- Vitamin B/folic acid deficiency can cause Inflammation of the tongue with redness and soreness...If your blood work comes back showing you are deficient in certain vitamins, you can take supplements to correct the levels within your body. However..raised bumps on the back of your tongue can just be your taste buds!!? Although I am SURE your Dr would have determined the difference! (my mum is GP and she says in practise so many patients come in saying they have spots on the back of their tongue only to be told it is totally normal and they are just taste buds!!)
- I think you may want to cut back on the sodapop for awhile, while you are on the medicine. Here is some info from the Mayo Clinic, and I'm giving you links to the thrush pages, too.
