Why do I get little red bumps on my tongue when I use mouthwash?
That includes alcoholic and alcoholic versions. It causes my tongue to burn and I get little red bumps that take days to go away. Could I be allergic to the active ingredient? Does anyone else experience this also? I meant alcoholic and non- alcoholic I meant alcoholic and non- alcoholic

- I think all this is is tastebuds. The mouthwash cleans the tounge, removing plaque caught between buds. That makes them more pronounced. The burning is normal, and the bumps COULD also be a "geographic tounge". My dad has it. Itz no big deal, but all it does is when u eat some foods, (an ingredient in the mouthwash may spark it) it causes the tastebuds to swell. Itz harmless. The tounge would also feel a little funny (like a swollen feeling). Hope this helps!
- We all have tiny bumps on our tongues... this is the taste buds and other parts of the tongue anatomy. These can get inflamed by mouthwashes because they remove large amounts of plaque. It can also be because the alcohol or alcohol substitute irritates them. Try Breath RX mouth wash, it works differently than most on the market. Also try the other products in the line. It is important to stop the plaque film on your tongue from building up, this will help prevent those bumps from getting big and red and irritated. Use a gentle tongue scraper.
