Help! Do I have cold sores?
When I push out my lip with my tongue I see little white raised bumps and when I push my lip out on the sides I see bigger raised bumps. Last night I popped one of the bigger raised bumps and it was like popping a pimple. A white strand of stuff came out. The next morning I had an raw spot on the left side of my lip. The spot isnt oozing any liquid and isnt all bumps. It lookes like when you shave and you slice your skin a little bit. I am very worried because it looks like a cold sore. I am only 15 years old and if this is a cold sore it will ruin my life. I dont want to tell my parents about it. I have also touched the open raw spot and then touched my eye. I am noticing something above my eye that looks like poison ivy. About a week ago I had a pimple looking thing on the skin above my private. It stayed for like 3 days then dried up but it wasnt oozing and it only hurt when I squeezed it. The only time you can really notice the white dots on my lip is when I push my lip out with my tongue. Is this normal? Am I getting a cold sore on my eye? And what is the fastest natural way to treat this without my parents knowing.

- If you have any kind of viral infection you probably need treatment by a physician. Anyway, your parents are going to notice soon so you might as well get their help. They probably will be concerned that you might have a staph infection or an STD, and will want you to get treatment for it.
- The first thing I would say is stop stressing. Even if it is a cold sore on your lip, it will not ruin your life. The cold sore virus is very common. I have been getting cold sores all my life, since I was a little kid. But I don't think you have cold sores. It does not really sound like a cold sore. Most likely it is just the tiny pimples that many people often get on the inside of their lips. Many of us already have the cold sore virus dormant in our bodies, and never have a flare up of cold sores. We contracted it as children, as it is a very common virus, and children pick it up easily as they often share food and drinks, and may be less concerned about hand washing and hygiene. Cold sores can be transmitted even when the person does not have a cold sore, though it is less likely to happen then. Cold sores are nothing to be ashamed of. Just exercise common sense and don't share drinking containers, wash cloths or towels when you have one - if you actually have cold sores. If it should turn out that you actually do have cold sores, you need to know that there is no over-the-counter medication or home remedy that cures cold sores. Only time will take care of that. But there is a good prescription medication for cold sores. It will make them go away much faster, and as a result of taking this medication you will have far fewer outbreaks of cold sores. The absolute best treatment for cold sores is a prescription medication in pill form called Valtrex. It was intended for genital herpes, but cold sores are caused by the same family of viruses, and Valtrex stops colds sores in their tracks. None of the other treatments come close to the effectiveness of Valtrex, not the ointment Zovirax, and certainly not Abreva or anything else. Ask your doctor about it to see if you would be a good candidate for this medication. My doctor prescribed it for me for cold sores about five years ago and after taking it only a couple of times I hardly ever get a cold sore any more, and before Valtrex I was having several attacks a year. On the rare occasions that I do get one now, it is gone almost immediately when I take the medication - in about a day.
