Painful bump on my uvula?
My throat has been hurting a lot lately (maybe 2 weeks). It started hurting a week ago when I swallow. Tonight I looked (with a mirror) at the back of my throat to see if I could tell what was causing this. I noticed that on my uvula there is a small red bump. I think that the reason it hurts to swallow is because when I swallow, my tongue hits the bump and pushes the uvula up. Does anyone know what this may be and how I can fix it?

- If there are bumps on the back of your tongue or back of your throat as well you may have strep and you should go to your doctor. However, you may have eaten something that scratched your uvula and caused a bit of an irritation or it could be a canker sore. Best thing is gargle with salt water and if it doesnt go away within at least a week of gargling every night...then yea check out your doctor.
