Single white bump on the back right side of my tongue?
Yesterday afternoon I noticed a single painless white bump on the back right side of my tongue. I have no idea where it's from, but I did swim in the pool an hour before and pool water got into my mouth (I dunno if that's relevant or anything). I'd say it's the size of a large whitehead. Any ideas on what it is or how I can treat it would be GREATLY appreciated. I'm worried it's a disease or a sort of virus :S Edit: I haven't chewed tobacco in my entire life, nor have done drugs. EDIT again: Got a picture of it now. http://h1.ripway.com/Niykara/whitetonguepimple.jpg Looks like another one is forming (the smaller white bump in front of it) :S

- I don't know what it's called but it's caused by an irritation or minor trauma to the tongue. It should go away within about 5 to 7 days. If not, see a dentist or doctor. It's nothing to worry about and I highly doubt it's either a disease or virus. I get them all the time and it's nothing.
- could be strep throat... may not be painful now but could be later. might want to go to a doctor if it gets any worse or you get more of them. Try gargaling with luke warm salt water.
- It could be some stray lymph node tissue back there sometimes. They are usually these white bumps on the sides of the tongue towards the very back. Just keep an eye on the bump. If it gets larger or changes into an ulcer/etc see a dentist.
- leukoplakia...do u chew tobacco? yuck :P lol
