  1. If you phrase your question that way, it certainly seems like getting rid of your piercing would help.
  2. YES! and see a doctor. Especially if you are feeling sick or running a high temp than normal. You more than likely have an infection in your mouth.
  3. I feel this is a little serious and you must go to a doctor as soon as possible. White pockets are normal but since your teeth are bitting your tounge, its serious.
  4. It definitely sounds like an infection, possibly a yeast infection (yes, you can get them in the mouth too!). Please take that tongue ring out, you're keeping an open avenue for bacteria to enter your bloodstream through that hole! You may also be having an allergic reaction to the materials in the ring...if your tongue keeps swelling you could possibly suffocate in your sleep!!! Either way, get rid of that nasty thing! Do you want people to always make fun of the way you talk with that thing in?
  5. 1) Remove piercing - - tongue is swollen. 2) Put a capful of peroxide in your mouth & slosh it around inside your mouth especially around the white bumps. DO NOT SWALLOW. Do this with proxide for 2-3 more times. 3) Rinse with plain water & spit. Repeat the water rinsing a couple more times. 4) Do this minimum 2 times a day. 5) If no improvement on the 3rd day or it is getting worse, see your dentist. 6) in future, do a little more of a daily mouth hygeine with brushing teeth & mouthwash that kills germs - - especially with the tongue ring to add add'l chances to trap germs in the mouth. Good luck.
  6. Hi, Seems like you have developed a tongue infection. * Taking out the tongue ring can be the first step. * Apply mouth paint (xylocaine) available OTC * take an anti-inflammatory like tylenol If the symptoms donot improve with the above treatment, then consult a doctor for prescription antibiotics.
